Course description: 

This course equips language teachers with the digital skills needed to create engaging, interactive, and modern learning experiences. Participants will explore user-friendly platforms such as Canva for designing visually appealing educational materials, and flashcard tools like Quizlet and Brainscape to enhance vocabulary retention and student participation. The course also introduces popular language learning apps that can supplement classroom instruction and support autonomous learning, such as Kahoot, Memrise, etc. A special focus will be placed on video-based teaching, including how to create short videos and interactive content using free tools such as Clipchamp, Canva Video, Lumen5 and others. Teachers will gain practical experience in integrating these tools into their lessons to boost learner motivation and outcomes. Emphasis will be placed on accessible, no-cost tools that require little technical background. Participants will leave the course with a personal library of digital resources and a set of ready-to-use materials for both online and in-person teaching. Ideal for language educators at all levels who want to stay current and creative in a digital-first teaching environment.

The course includes an optional outdoor adventure day in Finnish nature with an expert guide for a small extra fee (40 EUR).
