Course Title: Everyday English – A2 Level (Practical English for Daily Life)
Course fee: 350 EUR + 40 EUR fee for Outdoor Adventure Day
Course description:
This course focuses on everyday English use focusing on basic grammar, small-talk and different topics, such as nature and technology. The emphasis of the course is discussion and interaction in English. The course includes an outdoor adventure day with an extra fee (40 EUR).
Monday
10:00 - 10:30: Welcome and Introduction
Icebreaker activity to introduce participants and set the tone for the course.
10:30 - 12:00: Grammar - Present Progressive, Simple Past, and Simple Future
Focus on the forms and uses of the present progressive, simple past, and simple future tenses. Practice through exercises and examples.
12:00 - 13:00: Lunch
13:00 - 13:30: Icebreaker
Engaging activity to relax and help students get to know each other better.
13:30 - 15:00: Everyday English - Following Procedures and Giving Instructions
Vocabulary related to giving and following instructions. Role plays and dialogues where students practice understanding and using procedural language.
Tuesday
10:00 - 10:30: Welcome
Brief introduction and recap of Monday’s lessons, icebreaker activity.
10:30 - 12:00: Grammar - Prepositions of Time, Place, and Direction
Practice using prepositions in different contexts, with a focus on time, place, and direction. Exercises and examples for clarification.
12:00 - 13:00: Lunch
13:00 - 13:30: Icebreaker
Fun group activity to engage students before the next lesson.
13:30 - 15:00: Finnish Nature Vocabulary
Introduction to vocabulary related to Finnish nature, including flora, fauna, and landscapes. Group discussion and comprehension practice.
Wednesday - Nature Day
All Day (10:00 - 15:00): Outdoor Adventure Day Activity
This guided wilderness experience in southern Finland offers a combination of hiking, nature education, language training and hands-on outdoor skills, designed specifically for your group. The aim is to provide an enriching and enjoyable day in Finnish nature while learning about local flora and fauna, Everyman’s Rights, and Leave No Trace principles. Discussions and interactive language tasks related to nature observations. NB. The walk is slow-paced and suitable for all.
Lunch: A traditional Finnish outdoor meal cooked over an open fire, accompanied by coffee and dessert.
Thursday
10:00 - 10:30: Icebreaker
A light and fun activity to warm up for the lesson ahead.
10:30 - 12:00: Using a Computer and the Internet - Role Plays and Dialogues
Vocabulary and phrases for navigating the internet and using a computer. Role plays where students practice common online interactions and technical language.
12:00 - 13:00: Lunch
13:00 - 13:30: Icebreaker
Quick and energizing group activity to prepare for the final lesson of the day.
13:30 - 15:00: Making Small Talk - Dialogues and Roleplays
Practical conversation skills for starting and maintaining small talk. Role plays and dialogues to practice common everyday interactions.
Friday
10:00 - 10:30: Icebreaker
Fun activity to help students relax before the final day of the course.
10:30 - 12:00: Grammar - Adverbs and Adjectives
Practice the use of adverbs and adjectives to improve sentence structure and description. Exercises and examples to reinforce understanding.

13:00 - 13:15: Visit to Ateneum Art Museum (Finnish national art)
